Lunch… Such a pain the ass

Hello!

Yes. I officially retired Tasty Tuesdays.

And I still haven’t solved the dilemma of lunch. Many a folks think dinner is the nightmare.

DUDES!?!

That’s what things like crock pots, rice cookers, air fryers, ovens, etc. are for.

BUT BUT BUT

Portable meals?

I want to throw myself on the floor to cry. Such a pain the ass.

ALL THAT PACKAGING.

AND with bars?

How many different ways can you say sugar via mystery syrups???? Cuz really!?! You haven’t fooled me. I’d rather REAL sugar instead of some healthy sound something pretending to be sugar. I know from that year of me trying to be sugar free since those sugar free sugars caused me to feel far crappier than good ole fashion sugar.

Can’t forget that I probably got less salt when I tried a salt lick during childhood on a farm than in the packaged meats currently moonlighting in my lunches. GROSS!!!!

I also often leave my lunch in the car. Yup. Those melty coatings or chips cosplaying healthy? Get all over my face on hot days.

I know! I know! I know!

It’s possible to eat them without wearing them.

EXCEPT

I can’t seem to learn that skill. No matter how hard I try.

Salads are also so often labor intensive in the eating process and requiring a large chunk of time along with refridgeration. Such a nightmare.

Heavy meals are just that: Gut bottoms that knock me oion my ass instead of allowing for a productive second half of my day. Motherfucker!!!!

So?

I went to WinCo last weekend to review their bulk food aisles. Relief. I found barley, toasted buckwheat, and golden flax seed. I’ll be combining those with the almond butter, quinoa, chia seeds, oatmeal, raisins, and pecans to make some sort of bar. Molasses will be my sweetner along with apples and carrots. Small amount. Not massive.

I’ll report in how they turn out.
