My mother.

Cuz do you see my gray hat in my photo?

Yes. You got it! That hat offends my mom’s sensibilities. She truly hates it with a passion.

BUT BUT BUT

It’s a really good hat

I even pointed out how I saw a dude in Walmart wearing a similar hat.

Her returned salvo?

A dude rather than a gal was the one wearing it.

Yes. She also gets “befrumpled” when I wear my pearls with my Punisher T-shirt. Yes. This is the Punisher as in the Marvel Punisher. Cuz yes – I truly love what Netflix did with Jon Bernthal. And no. I’m going to see how Disney twists it since they go for cash rather than quality.

I digress.

And yesterday when I was wearing my hat, my WonderCon T-Shirt with yoga pants and wool socks? She was beside herself. And she pointed out that I wasn’t looking like a fashionista like I want.

But to be clear? My mom’s idea of a fashionista is very different from mine. Hers is far more sensible and stylish. Mine? I live much closer to the “fashion risk” side of being a fashionista. No. I don’t think that I’ll ever truly be that “polished lady” when it comes being a fashionista trophy cuz after being that way a little during my Stepford Wife lifetime? It’s definitely not for me.

And?

It’s fabulous to play with what it means to look like a woman despite what my mom says!!

Did I mention that it’s a really good hat?
