So?

I taught my first class about having a producer mindset in three different ways last week.

And?

I was in a state of terror for my first class cuz I overwhelmed myself.

CUZ!?!

It was my first time teaching about being a producer and an artist.

And I hit on a decent combo in my third class.

It’s really about understanding that most people think of art as a luxury. This is whether it’s a bazillion dollars or five.

Wait there’s more!?!

Just cuz a subject interests you doesn’t necessarily mean it interests others. Our intrepretation may interest them even less.

So?

How do we start to get folks interested in our art?

I’m not selling a magic bullet that fits all since everyone must find their own journey that works best for their art or work or whatever product they want to put out in the world.

My process is more about breaking down assumptions first. And I’m also starting to rethink so much of what is considered “proper workflow” cuz I think the script development team should be talking with the production team AND EVERYONE should be talking with the post-production team.

Cuz Robert Rodriguez is right:

Movies bloat when folks don’t understand how post-production works in real life.

As an aside: Notice the window in this shot? It’s on the right. I want to station myself under it with my camera to film liquid being poured on the glass. That would be soooooooooo cool!!
