And I told the story of 3 WISHES. My method was to frame it like a fairy tale starting with…

ONCE UPON A TIME

And that’s the piece that I needed to have it come all together cuz my story isn’t fully 100% grounded in reality. After all??? What psych ward do you know has a fairy godmother with pink lace chaps??

My speech placed SECOND. First place went to a fun story from a delightful guy with decades of experience in Toastmasters.

As I placed second in the club, I get to progress to the next level on March 7th. I’ll announce the results once I know.

Other important things:

I got chuckles and knowing looks when I had hoped they would land. Multiple folks came up after the fact to let me know they really enjoyed my story.

Talk about awesome practice cuz a large part of why I do things like Toastmasters and sales? I want to be able to pitch my stories better. Like seriously… It doesn’t matter how dynamic my stories are IF I communicate them in an engaging fashion.

I also think this a good placement since it’s only my third Toastmasters speech.

And rather than be discouraged that a veteran “beat” me??? He’s a good role model.

To say that I’m happy??? Delirious!

Sure! It’d be awesome if I go all the way. But even getting this far?? Super cool!
