Fashionista Two: Indiana Jones Purse

Fashionista Two: Indiana Jones Purse

Helllllllllllooo!

Dudes!! Why would I get such a big purse!?!

Simple…

If you notice the lasso material for the straps?? I dressed up like Indiana Jones for Halloween when I was a kid. And I used my mom’s jump rope for my whip. Those lasso straps remind me of that jump rope. Yup. It’s absolutely fun navigating the world with Indiana Jones on the brain.

Nope. I didn’t watch the latest movie in the franchise from the one and only Kathleen Kennedy. Spoiler: Kathleen has dark hair. AND!?! A woman with dark hair is set up to take over the franchise. EXCEPT??? That would be watching an Indiana Jones movie without Indiana Jones. It’s also the bait and switch tactic that they’ve been doing in the Marvel movies: Emasculate the male character supposed to be in the leading role for a she boss. I saw this happen in the Thor movie when Natalie Portman’s character wielded her own hammer and the Scarlet Witch took over the relatively recent Dr. Strange movie.

But dudes? That’s sexist as fuck. Why? If the powers that be really believed in the female characters??? They would give them their own movies instead of hijacking the male property. Wait!!! There’s more: They would also let the females fuck up far more than the stupid girl boss trope allows. Twisting the female girls into perfect girl bosses means that the powers that be broadcast that women must be perfect and having to do everything. And they let their male characters fuck up BAD. Double standards that translates to: Kathleen Kennedy and Kevin Feige are doing their very best to keep the patriarchy alive.

Back to Indiana Jones…

My childhood friend and I adored Indiana Jones. We really thought he was the best ever. And those movies?? They’re the reason that I wanted to make films cuz their such magic. I know! I know! I know! My current movies are far from those epic events. BUT BUT BUT here’s the deal…

IF I can’t make an engaging short film? How the fuck can I expect to make an engaging feature film? And in case you haven’t noticed: I like to repeat activities to allow me to dig in far more than I can if I have the “one and done” mindset. It strips away preciousness and perfectionism since I know that I’ll have more than one opportunity.

And speaking of that?? I was my entire crew last year with my EasterSeals Disability Film Challenge short film. I’m going to do more work with actors and myself to prepare to do 3 WISHES like Robert Rodriguez did EL MARIACHI. Cuz the more that I understand the workflow of a feature film?? I can find limits and places to expand. Something else important: I come from lived experience when I go to work with my casts and crews: We can collaborate to create far more dynamic movies than if I only come from an intellectual understanding. Talk about fabulous!!

As always: Have a glamorous day for fun!!
