Do you like my picture of that saw? I think it’s pretty cool and speaks to today’s topic. As preparation for today’s post, I’ve been listening to tons of YouTube and reading a bunch of books. Chris Do of The Futur has wisdom around this cuz he’s an artist and an entrepreneur.

How so? Chris calls out what I call the ICK FACTOR. You know the deal: Free content with a sales pitch at the end. This turns a gift of information into a transaction. As the pitch also generally comes at the end, it’s the last impression of your content. If a sales pitch is mishandled, any good will from offering free information is gone.

My solution? I’m going to continue to simply do free blog posts. I’m also putting free together content for other social media platforms to roll out in 2026. And I’ll be transparent in my titles if I’m talking about my services only available via pay. Nope. You also don’t need to buy my services to be able to receive my content since I’ve committed to this blog and my other soon-to-be content.

But Holly… You’re essentially selling the farm with these posts and other media content without monetizing them. Yes. I’m putting a lot out there except how I see my approach? It’s like what programmers do with open source: make it a readily available tool. And I have no desire to control the outcome for a simple reason…

You can have ten people read a book. Sure. There may be some cross over except you’ll end up with ten different meanings from the same information. I love this part!! How this relates to my content is how you all may assign different meanings that I intended. EXCEPT the bigger part? I don’t have an intention or agenda with these posts other than to offer up my words. And I know if I attempt to monetize them, it would shackle them rather than let them flow.

Yup. I may occasionally have the missing word or incomplete thoughts in my blogs. Some may loop while others connect things that may make you scratch your head. Still others? May be totally lame once I hit the “publish” button. Absolutely all okay. Cuz see? Writing like this is how I “play” along with making my films and other creative projects. And my secret to “playing?” Allowing myself to try things out rather than force myself to perfect them for a price tag. Keeping this content free while developing paid content?

IMPORTANT: I want to thank you all for reading my words. And when you’re ready? I’m curious about your thoughts around them. Yes. I’m absolutely fine if you believe that I’m full of bananas with some of my ideas. Others may also be home runs for you.
