Hello!

I haven’t missed a day of blog writing since the beginning of December 2025. Sure. Some have barely made it on that day.

BUT BUT BUT DUDES!?!

I haven’t missed a single day.

Sure. Not all have been amazing. So what?? If I held that to my only standard? I’d never put myself out there in ANY capacity cuz my brain will always find a way to move the goal post.

That’s the wisdom behind: Better done than perfect

And?

I’ve been able to get a shit ton with that mindset.

EXCEPT

We’re not supposed to toot our own horns or talk about our accomplishments.

Why?

It might others feel bad about sitting on their asses. Like it’s up to me play small for the benefit of people not paying my bills. Other possibilities!?! Since I’m a woman in my fifties? Why yes… I should be one of those folks sitting on my ass and lamenting about how life passed me by. Such an utter load of bullshit.

So?

I’m going to be more open about my stand up and performing even though I still suck at them. And do you know how I’ll guarantee me continuing to suck? Not trying.

As I’ve got to get together five minutes of dad jokes for a benefit on the 22nd? I’m doing the rounds for sure. This includes doing my set in the mirror.

See… I’m working on my anxiety in Billings where I get the chance to perform when I show up at the open mics. This isn’t true in bigger markets. Yup. I’m grateful.

After all? There’s more to publicly performing music than just making music. I’m separating out the pieces to work on each part for me to eventually put them all together.
