Let’s get down to business:

My divorce was finalized one year to the date

I was hospitalized in Texas for a psychotic break due to the wrong medication on this day: 20 years ago!!

And I had this fancy about publishing my very first poetry book today. I’ve been preparing for this over numerous decades cuz my poetry began in childhood.

Yes. I’m willing to admit to around 400 poems. God knows? There’s been a helluva lot more.

BUT BUT BUT

I don’t treat my poetry like it’s sacred. In fact???

If I can’t write it in one pass? Toss it.

Cuz

I let my poetry be what it will be.

If it’s more than one page?

Too much

UNLESS!?!

It’s beyond magnificent!

Most of the time?

Nope.

Since most of my poems tend to be about one thing. I’ve been especially cured after being at poetry reads where poems are about everything under the sun. Like seriously!?! I’ve heard poetry lasting more than a solid ten minutes. I apologize if I’ve ever done this.

My journey now relative to poetry? I know I need to get back to Los Angeles to perform at Da Poetry Lounge A cool about Facebook is seeing all the various poetry venues in various cities.

And not even…

I’m not trying to be the best poet. Here’s the thing though: Poetry was the best training ever for screenwriting cuz every word counts in poetry. Like words are so very important.

Them breaking down? Causes wars

I’m in a somewhat strange place today. Not the best space to be evaluating my work for my very first book. I remember this when we were in post-production for MY APOCALYPTIC THANKSGIVING. Everyone kept asking when it would be done already… Comes down to the simple indie film concept: things can be fast, cheap, or good, Not all three.

I was trying to do all three for my poetry book since I want to publish already. Gotta get my script consulting sponsorship done first. Almost there. Today’s bottom line? Emotional factors are also a factor.

Puffiness totally a factor too: I had a patty melt with tots last night at Perkins. Not smart for a lactose intolerant gal. OOOOOOH so yummy though!!
