“Okay, already. You won… Mom.”
“Oh, Miranda… Darling, We both know that’s lie cuz you’ll leave Magic City again.”
“Just cuz you love being a big fish in a small pond doesn’t mean that’s me too.”
“There’s nothing big about me. No fishiness around my fashion sense either.”
“I don’t know, Mom. Those pants with that jacket?”
“It’s a blazer.”
“And yet you wore a BLAZER when you knew I need help unpacking.”
“From what I see? The replacement cost would have been far cheaper than you dragging all that junk from that place.”
“That’s not the point. I don’t want to give up everything.”
“You’ve certainly dressed that way.”
Lori smiles at Miranda.
A beat.
Miranda pretends to laugh hard.
“Just tell me what you need once you’ve unpacked. I can do a shop trip within REASON.”
“I’ll keep you posted within REASON.”
“God. How did I end up with such a drama queen?”
Lori fluffs her hair and saunters out. She pulls the door shut behind her. Miranda locks the door.
A beat.
Miranda can’t decide if she wants to laugh or cry. She sharply exhales while she looks around her apartment.
As always: Have a glamorous day for fun!!
