I’ve been thinking long and hard about the genre for this ongoing story.

And?

Horror films do best in a compressed period of time.

Even more so with thrillers.

Straight comedies???

Pressure to create constant jokes

I’m only just beginning my joke writing jounrey in earnest. See… I took three rounds of standup classes from Cary Odes when I was living in Los Angeles. I also did a little standup live and via Zoom.

EXCEPT

Life didn’t support me pursuing standup comedy. Totally fine cuz I’m not trying to strictly just be a standup comic.

Learning how to publicly speak in an engaging way???? Priceless

Tied to this? SALES. Huh? If people don’t find you immediately engaging? They walk on or shut the door in your face. I’ve even heard where the cops have been called on someone knocking doors. Yup. You’ve got LESS THAN THREE SECONDS to make an impression.

As a neophyte screenwriter back when dinosaurs roamed the earth? I thought that I had the first ten pages to make an umpression. Nope. I can now tell within the first paragpraph or two if I’m in good hands.

So???

I know this same bar applies my blogs now that my ass is out of processing like a motherfucker. The method to that “madness” to let you all see how messy healing can be in real time. And how it’s a relief to not be perfect in public.

Yup. That’s the foundation for this Montana style dramedy.
