Happy Thursday! I haven’t posted in a while because I’ve been SPINNING for… THE ANSWER. But what the hell does that really mean to me? As a creative person, it means finding a way to support myself and my creative projects. I’ve written on this in the past with the thought that I had finally found MY answer except I almost always immediately feel unsettled. Can any of you relate?

My guess is YES since it seems that we’re all expected to know our own secrets to the Universe. Hmm… What if this is a big fucking lie? If I operate from the idea that I can have ANSWERS rather than THE answer, I trust that I’ll be a whole helluva happier. Why? This gives me room to course correct myself since life is about refinement on a regular basis.

Okay… Maybe this isn’t true for some people. More power to them. I’d love to be a whole lot more certain than my current state. My challenge is that the more that I know helps me to understand that I honestly don’t know jack. In fact, it reminds me of hearing once that Robert M. Pirsig (Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance) drove himself insane trying to define the word “quality.”

I have done this to myself in varying degrees over the years. It’s also become especially loud right now since I no longer take care of the adults with special needs in the family business. I’ve been working on loose ends while looking for a specific direction. The crazy part is that I’ve been far busier now it seems than when I was working.

Plus, I recognize that it’s time to let go of the idea that life will slow down enough to catch my breath. What’s the old saying: Life is what happens when you’re busy making other plans? So, I’ll say that I don’t have a definitive answer except one:

I’ll always make indie films and writings.

As part of that, I’m currently working on six short films. I’ve already shot one. The next one will be shot later this month. And the others are in development. My hope is to get them at least shot before the end of January. I also even worked on a TV commercial today. These are my “answers” for now. I trust that they’ll lead me to more “answers” that can open more possibilities to generate YOU GUESSED IT: MORE ANSWERS.
